About us
17 years, one yard, the same phone number
Brackholt started in 2009 with one lorry and twenty skips on a rented corner of Tallowmere Yard. We now run 9 lorries from the whole yard, and most of our work still comes from people who hired us last time.
Why we sort every skip ourselves
Most small skip firms tip at somebody else’s transfer station and pay by the tonne. We built our own picking floor in 2016, because it was the only way to charge less for clean loads and still make it pay.
Every skip that comes back is tipped, picked by hand and by grab, and split into the streams on the right. That is how 92% of what we collect stays out of landfill, and it is why a clean rubble or garden skip is cheaper than a general one.
-
Brick, block and concrete
Crushed on site to graded hardcore and sold back to builders from the yard gate.
-
Timber
Nails pulled by magnet, chipped, and sent on for panel board and biomass.
-
Garden waste
Shredded and composted in windrows. It comes back as soil improver in spring.
-
Metal
Separated by grab and magnet, baled and sold. The one stream that pays us.

What customers say after collection
“Rang at eleven, skip was on the drive by nine the next morning. The driver put boards down so the block paving didn’t get marked.”
“We filled it with forty years of a parent’s house. They swapped it for a second one the same afternoon without any fuss.”
“Our road has no parking at all. They sorted the permit, turned up with the lights and cones, and the neighbours never complained.”
