The 8 yard is the size we send out most. It takes about eighty bin bags of mixed waste or seven tonnes of whatever is heaviest, and it still fits on a normal drive. The 6 yard is the same idea with less in it — choose it when access is tight or the job is one room.

Builders’ skips go out on the mixed rate unless you tell us otherwise. That covers the reality of a site: timber, plaster, packaging and a share of rubble, all in the one skip. If a load is all rubble or all soil, book it as rubble and save £30 on the general rate; the only rule is that it must genuinely be just that.

Keeping a job moving

Ring or text before 2pm for an exchange the next working day. Most of our trade customers set a standing order — a swap every Tuesday, say — so the skip is never full when the gang needs it. There is no contract and no minimum.

Paperwork

Every collection comes with a waste transfer note, emailed the same day. Keep them: they are your proof that the waste went to a permitted site, and you may be asked for them by a client or an inspector.
