Rubble & soil skips

From £150 inc. VAT, delivery, 7 days and tipping

Brick, block, concrete and soil at the cheaper inert rate. Heavy loads go in 8 yards or smaller — we’ll tell you which.

  • The inert rate: £30 under general waste
  • Crushed and screened at our yard for reuse as hardcore
  • Weight checked on our weighbridge, not guessed
  • A second skip the same day if the first one fills

4.9 from 1,120 reviews · next-day drop on skips to 12 yd

Rubble is heavy, which is the whole story of how we price it. A skip lorry can lift a limited weight, so heavy waste only goes in skips of 8 yards or smaller, and a full 8 yard of broken concrete is close to that limit already. Most rubble jobs fit a 4 or a 6.

Clean rubble is also the waste we can do the most with. It goes over our crusher and comes back out as graded hardcore that builders buy back from the yard. That is why it costs £30 less than general waste, as long as it stays clean.

What counts as rubble and soil

Brick, block, concrete, tiles, stone, hardcore, soil, subsoil and clay. Clean ceramics — basins and toilets — are fine too. Plasterboard is not; nor is anything wooden, plastic or green. A little of those will push the load onto the mixed rate.

How much fits

As a rule, fill a rubble skip about two-thirds full and stop. The finder on our sizes page works the weight out for you.

Good for

  • Patio and driveway lifts
  • Footings and extension digs
  • Chimney breasts and garden walls
“Two loads of patio slabs and hardcore. The rubble rate was thirty quid under what I’d been quoted elsewhere for general waste.”
