- Book a two-hour arrival window
4.9 from 1,120 reviews · next-day drop on skips to 12 yd
If the waste is already out and bagged, you don’t need a skip for a week. Book wait and load: the lorry arrives in a two-hour window, drops the skip beside the kerb, waits while you fill it, and takes it straight away. No permit is needed because the skip never stays on the road.
You get an hour of loading time. That is plenty for a 6 yard skip if the waste is bagged and there are two of you; for an 8 yard, have a third pair of hands. If you run over, extra time is £15 a quarter hour, and the driver will tell you before it starts.
Getting it right
Stack the waste as close to the kerb as you can before the lorry arrives. Keep the heavy things for the bottom and have the bulky ones broken down. The driver can’t load for you, but will tell you where to put things so the skip sheets flat.
Good for
- Terraced streets with no drive
- Waste already bagged and waiting
- Flats and shops with no room for a skip
“Rang at eleven, skip was on the drive by nine the next morning. The driver put boards down so the block paving didn’t get marked.”
